What's Wrong With "The Chosen"?

The Chosen is a TV series that is supposed to be about the life and ministry of Jesus Christ through the eyes of the people who met him.

It is said that the stories come straight from the Gospels. But no, the stories embellish on and change the

Gospel accounts. To give a few examples, when Jesus speaks the Beatitudes for the first time, it's not in the

Sermon on the Mount to the crowds in Galilee as in Matthew 5 -7. He literally tells Matthew to write them down.

He later tells Matthew, I'm here to start a revolution. Jesus never said that. He said he came to give his life as a ransom for many.

When Jesus meets the Samaritan woman at the well, she says, you're a prophet and you're to preach at me. He says no, but yes, that's exactly why he was there.

He preached to her whole town. He said in Mark 1 -38 that he came to preach. There are few scenes in The Chosen that are anything like the

Bible. When The Chosen released their trailer for Season 3, there was a scene where Jesus says,

I am the law of Moses. That's not in the Bible. But many pointed out it is in the Book of Mormon.

By the way, Mormons produce this show. Writer and director Dallas Jenkins got online to say, of course,

I'm not quoting from the Book of Mormon. I've never read the Book of Mormon. But the point still stands that when you go beyond what is written, the results are not of God.

Paul rebuked the Corinthians in this way. If one comes and preaches another Jesus whom we did not preach, you bear this beautifully.
