What's Wrong With "The Chosen"?

The Chosen is a TV series that is supposed to be about the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. Through the eyes of the people who met him it is said that the stories come straight from the Gospels. But no the stories embellish on and change the gospel accounts to give a few examples.

Altering the Beatitudes and the Sermon on the Mount

When Jesus speaks the beatitudes for the first time. It's not in the Sermon on the Mount to the crowds in Galilee as in Matthew 5 through 7. He literally tells Matthew to write them down. He later tells Matthew.

Claims Jesus Never Made and the True Mission of Christ

I'm here to start a revolution. Jesus never said that. He said he came to give his life as a ransom for many. When Jesus meets the Samaritan woman at the well, she says you're a prophet and you're to preach at me.

He says no, but yes, that's exactly why he was there. He preached to her whole town. He said in Mark 1 38 that he came to preach. There are few scenes in the Chosen that are anything like the Bible when the Chosen released their trailer for season 3.

The "I Am the Law of Moses" Trailer Line and the Book of Mormon

There was a scene where Jesus says I am the law of Moses. That's not in the Bible, but many pointed out it is in the Book of Mormon. By the way Mormons produced this show writer and director Dallas Jenkins got online to say, of course.

Going Beyond What Is Written and Preaching Another Jesus

I'm not quitting from the Book of Mormon. I've never read the Book of Mormon. But the point still stands that when you go beyond what is written the results are not of God. Paul rebuked the Corinthians in this way if one comes and preaches another Jesus whom we did not preach.
