Post Tenebras Lux Bible Rebinding Review

A Rebound Bible as a Gift and a Tool for Evangelism

Praise to the Sovereign King, hear His people sing, solely and wholly saving His own bride. There where the Lamb has died, hide the blood of that great High Priest.

Hi there, I am Pastor Braden with Reformed Ex Mormon. I hope you're having a wonderful and blessed day today. Today we are doing something that is actually quite a treat for myself. What I have here with me that I'm going to be doing a little review of is a recently rebound 1977 NASB Bible done by Post-Tenebrous Lux Bible Rebinding.

Now, if you have a Bible that needs to be rebound, something that maybe you have used for many years, or it's been in your family for a long time, or you are a pastor looking at wanting to keep your preaching Bible, whatever the example is, I am going to tell you right now that you need to go and use Post-Tenebrous Lux Bible Rebinding.

Something that this video will not pick up is the quality of this leather in your hands. It just feels like you can already tell that this is something that is going to last for a very long time. Post-Tenebrous Lux is owned by a gentleman named Jeffrey Rice.

Jeff does the Bible rebinding and this one that he did is what he has called his Isaiah line. And this is beautiful work. This is a small Bible, something that I am planning on using for evangelism. With that in mind, I didn't want something that was large and cumbersome to try to carry around to show to people.

So this is why I am super thankful to have this small Bible to be able to do this with. So I literally just got this today. It still smells brand spanking new. I literally opened it about 30 minutes ago.

And I have only opened the pages up once. So I just want to show you what this is looking like in here. So we'll just open up here to Jeremiah chapter 3 it looks like. But as you can see in there, if you've ever done anything with opening up books, Bibles specifically.

And when I say open up, I mean if you've ever cut apart those things to try to look at what the spine looks like. Or maybe you try to reinforce a spine or even if you try to rebind something yourself.

You'll notice that every time that you do something like that, you lose what's called your river down in this section. Right in the center of your book. And this river area, as you can tell, this being so small print, because it's a small Bible.

It's got this micro print almost. That river is already not very large to begin with. But I don't know how Jeff did it. But he was able to rebind this and I don't think any of that river was lost whatsoever.

In fact, a lot of times when people do those things, you'll end up having words that are starting to fall into the river and you can't see them. And you have to bend your Bible in a very awkward way to be able to read it.

Right there, that just shows the craftsmanship that went into making something like this. I'm just opening it up here to this first place right here.

I really like this.

This is almost like a fabric, but it's not. It's still paper, but it feels absolutely amazing. Once again, this is going to be something that lasts for a very, very long time. So if you, like I said, if you have a Bible that you've held on to that's falling apart, as I hope it is, which means that you've been getting good use out of it, you want to send it to Post-Tenebrous Lux.

You're going to get many more years of service out of these different Bibles that you send to Jeff. And it's going to be able to continue to glorify God in those ways. So Post-Tenebrous Lux, that term is a Latin term which means after darkness, light.

This is something that Jeff is doing that is absolutely for God's glory. I think it's important when we look at these kind of nice quality items that we need to make it clear that we can't make even our Bibles into an idol.

We can't hold such value to just the book. We hold value to the words that are spoken therein. The message in this book is a message of everlasting life, of salvation. And so, since the message is that important on the inside, it's fitting to have something that carries that message of eternal life in a beautifully fine way, such as this, and that is exactly what this is going to be.

It's a way to carry that message forward to people in a beautiful, fine way. In fact, I made a little joke earlier that what I plan on doing is when I'm evangelizing to somebody, I'm going to say, do you want to know what salvation and everlasting life feels like?

I'm going to tell them, here, feel this Bible, and right then and there, they're going to have faith in Jesus Christ because this feels amazing. Now, that being a joke aside, the quality on this Isaiah line that Jeff has, this leather is wonderful, absolutely wonderful.

I'm absolutely loving this. I'm super excited. It just makes me want to get out on the streets and start doing some open-air witnessing to people. But let me read just for us real fast a couple Bible verses, just something to help us remember why would somebody want to rebind something that's falling apart on them?

Scripture as the Basis for Bible Rebinding

So, John 5, verse 39, it says, Now, if you're a Christian, you understand the value, maybe not in its fullness, but you understand the value of knowing who Jesus is and what he has done to purchase salvation for us.

And it is because of that that we would want to have something as beautiful as this to carry around that message, to carry that message of good news, the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ according to Scriptures to a world that's lost and fallen.

I want to read one more for us here. John 20, verse 31 says this,. But these have been written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name.

The Value of the Bible Versus the Value of an Idol

So, remember, no matter what Bible you are using, do not ever forget to tell people of the price that Christ has paid for us upon the cross, and that's the value that's within this book here. All 66 books from Genesis to Revelation have all told us about Jesus Christ.

Once again, if you want to make a gift for a pastor, a teacher, evangelist, friends, or family, this is a wonderful blessing that you will be getting for them, doing for them. Or if you have a Bible that needs to be restored, it's falling apart, send it to Post-Tenebrous Lux.

They will take great care of something that is so precious in your hands, and you'll get many more years of service out of it. Hope that this has been a blessing for you.

God bless.

Go in peace and tell the world about that price Christ has paid for you and I.
