The Doctrine of the Week for this Sunday is the Incarnation. In Chapter 1 of John's Gospel, the
Apostle tells us that Christ was both in the beginning with God and that He was
God, and that He became flesh and dwelt among us. So the
Incarnation is the central Christian doctrine that teaches
God became flesh, that God assumed a human nature and became a man in the form of Jesus Christ, the
Son of God, the second person of the Trinity. Christ, the Bible teaches us, was truly
God and truly man. The doctrine maintains that the divine and human natures of Jesus do not exist beside one another in an unconnected way, but rather are joined in Him in a personal unity that has traditionally been referred to as the hypostatic union.
And then the Bible tells us in 1 Timothy 3 .16, And without controversy, great is the mystery of godliness.
God was manifested in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen by angels, preached among the
Gentiles, believed on in the world, and received up in glory.
