Reformation, I listen to them. I almost forgot. Uh -oh. London in the Lyceum, once in a while. Oh, there it is. Theology in particular.

I think that�s it. That�s who I listen to. Once in a while, I listen to Hardcore History with Dan Carlin.

That�s the other secular show. But if you�re wondering, that�s the scoop. Talking today about Ecclesiastes.

How do you get through this world that�s just chaos, that just doesn�t fulfill, that is just tainted by the fall?

Well, we�ve seen that you enjoy everything from God�s good hand if you�re a Christian and you think everything is through the work of the

Father sending the Son applied by the Spirit. We�re thinking in a Trinitarian fashion. You then, chapter 3, that�s the first two chapters of chapter 3, verse 1 to 15, you think about God�s sovereignty here in poetic form.

God is sovereign time, time, time, time. He�s sovereign over all the times. And then you expect

God�s going to judge. And you expect eternal life. That�s in this section here, 3 .16 and following.

The preacher�s preaching to himself. And he�s like, oh, you know what? There�s injustice. That too is in vanity.

No, he didn�t say that. There�s injustice where there should be justice. He�s thinking of the courts.

In court, there should be justice and there�s not. So, that too is vanity.

But instead, he says, but you know what? God�s going to judge. God is going to judge. God will judge, verse 17, both the righteous man and the wicked man, for a time for every matter and for every deed is there.

And therefore, like Jesus, who in 1 Peter 2 entrusted himself to God who judges justly, we do the same thing.

We say, you know what, Father? We know you�ll judge. We know that you�re going to make every wrong right.

And we know sometimes that judgment will be in this lifetime. Sometimes it�ll be after we die.

Or sometimes it�ll be at the ultimate judgment. But there�s a time. The preacher preaches to himself.

Shouldn�t we do that often? We should preach to ourself and say, enjoy what you can now as from God�s good gift.

You don�t deserve anything. Look at all you get. Even though life is hard and there�s difficulties, you still get some wonderful things.

And you think, you know what? There�s no rhyme or reason to this world, but I�m going to have to walk by faith and not by sight.

God�s sovereign. I�m going to have to look at everything through the sovereign hand of God. I had to do that this week in my own life, thinking, you know what?

I�m sinning when I don�t do that. I�m not living a holy life when I do that. I want to do that. Isn�t that the desire of every

Christian? Right? You think I�d like to live a holy life. I want to walk in a manner worthy of my calling.

Do my critics not hear me when I say that? Are my critics not listening to me? Robert Trail wrote a chapter on the charge of antinomianism not sticking.

I think some people need to probably read that. If I don�t have a certain view, then somehow

I�m an antinomian. That�s kind of a heinous charge actually to bring up when there�s no foundation for that charge.

What do we do? There�s a time for every matter and every work. It�s kind of like Revelation 6 .10.

They cried out with a loud voice, �O sovereign Lord, holy and true, how long before you judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth ?�

I mean, he�s going to judge now very often, in a little bit very often, and ultimately always.

We�re under the sun. Things are chaotic, but there�s going to be judgment. Think about what our

Lord and Savior Jesus Christ said in John 5. �Truly I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life.

He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.� Truly, truly,

I say to you, an hour is coming, and now hear, when the dead will hear the voice of the

Son of God.� I�d said that wrong. �Truly, truly, I say to you, an hour is coming, and is now hear, when the dead will hear the voice of the

Son of God, and those who hear will live. For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the

Son also to have life in himself. And he has given him, the

Son, authority to execute judgment, because he is the Son of Man.�

Jesus said, �Do not marvel at this, for an hour is coming, when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice and come out, and those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment.�

That�s our Lord and Savior, remember? And he came to seek and save. He knew judgment was coming.

He understands judgment, and therefore he�s on a love mission. The Father loves sinners. The Son loves sinners.

The Holy Spirit loves sinners. One essence, one nature, one will, three persons, they all love sinners, one

God. And now the Father, the unbegotten Father, as it were, dispatches the begotten

Son, and both the Father and the Son send the Spirit. And we watch with great joy what the

Son has accomplished as he fulfills the work of the Father, and the Spirit now dwells in our hearts.

It�s wonderful when you think about it. Judgment is going to come, though, but we�ve already been judged. How can we have eternal life if we know we�re sinners and we have sinned, we do sin?

How do we not come into judgment, but pass from death to life? I mean, is God unjust? Well, no, because Jesus has paid for our sins.

Jesus paid it all, all to him I owe. I sang last time, so I sing again. Jesus, no,

I don�t. Jesus paid it all. I start off on the wrong key.

Acts 17, 31, �Because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed, and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead.�

You want to know if there�s going to be judgment? Jesus is alive to judge. He�s alive.

The resurrection confirms it all. See, I�m just, all my hopes and trusts are in the nine -person

Supreme Court justice in America, the 13 -person, the 15 -person, five to four advantage on liberals and conservatives and liberals, or six -three, or what if somebody dies, and what about all this stuff?

No, no. There�s a promise from God. Genesis 18, 25, �Shall not the judge of all the earth do what is just and right ?�

Solomon even knew it. He says at the end of the book in chapter 12 of Ecclesiastes, �God will bring every deed into judgment with every secret thing, whether good or evil.�

I mean, of course, the good shepherd is going to make sure he judges, takes care of his people, and he brings final justice, final judgment.

The Lord who�s holy and true is going to do that. So, to reinforce that ultimate justice,

I want to fast forward to the book of Revelation in Revelation chapter 19, drop my phone, and show you the ultimate judgment day.

For the Christian, we�re safe, safe and secure from all alarms. So safe, you should probably get that new book on No Compromise No Condemnation.

They were sent to my house, and then I had to ship them out. We�re not doing that. We�re doing the evangelical white lies version.

You know, have you ever written a book and then thought, I need to revise that and make it more gospel -centered, to make it more law gospel -centered?

Yes, every single book I wrote. Who has time for that?

I don�t have any time to correct my old mistakes. I just tell you now, on June 11th,

Saturday, 3 .30 p .m. 2022, the things that I taught in the past, eternal functional subordination,

I repent. I don�t teach that anymore. It was wrong. It was a sin. Um, what else?

You know, every other thing. Not good law gospel distinctions. Not motivation to obey with guilt, grace, gratitude.

And not duplex gratia. You know, the list goes on and on. I repent. I confess it right now.

So, read all my other stuff in light of that, this current confession, right? The good news about not being very famous, not being famous at all, is nobody really cares.

They look at my old books, okay, whatever. Revelation 19, justice and judgment.

Sometimes there�s justice in this world. Everybody dies, though, and it�s appointed for man once to die, and then what?

There�s God is true, and beside Him there�s no Savior, and beside Him there�s no ultimate judge.

If He says something, it�s going to be true, and it�s going to happen. And this

God in Ecclesiastes, Elohim, the sovereign creator, He�s going to do what�s right.

So, we fast forward to Revelation to look at this a little bit, and there�s a lot of hallelujahs going on. You ever say hallelujah?

There�s a lot of hallelujahs going on. Number one hallelujah found in verse 1 of Revelation 19, �After this

I heard what seemed to be the loud voice of a great multitude in heaven crying out, �Hallelujah !�

Hallel, praise, Yah, Yahweh, praise to Yahweh, �Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our

God.� I mean, He�s such a Savior, so glorious, so powerful, hallelujah.

Have you ever said hallelujah to God for that? God, you�re a great Savior, you�re powerful, and you�re full of glory.

There�s another hallelujah. Verse 2, this is more related to our

Ecclesiastes discussion, �For His judgments are true and just. For He has judged the great prostitute who corrupted the earth with her immorality and has avenged on her the blood of His servants.

Once more they cried out, �Hallelujah !� The smoke from her goes up forever and ever.�

Hallelujah for judgment. Who would think, you know, hallelujah for God�s powerful,

God�s glorious, God�s a Savior, but now hallelujah for just judgment?

Yes, amen. Every real Christian knows that, even unbelievers with the law of God written on their heart knows that this would be right.

Another hallelujah. Verses 4 and 5, �And the twenty -four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped

God, who was seated on the throne, saying, �Amen! Hallelujah! And from the throne came a voice saying, �Praise our

God, all you His servants, you who fear Him, small and great.�

God, you�re so great. You�re so wonderful. Everybody�s saying hallelujah, not even here for anything that He�s done, but for who

He is. For who He is. Write that down now, for who

He is. Fourth hallelujah. I wonder what they�re going to praise

God for here. I wonder what we should praise God for. Then I heard Revelation 19 6, �What seemed to be the voice of a great multitude, like the roar of many waters, and like the sound of mighty pearls of thunder, crying out, �Hallelujah !�

Now we�re going to learn why He�s to be praised. �For the Lord our God, the Almighty reigns.�

Isn�t that good? The Almighty, nine times used in the book of Revelation. He�s so powerful,

He can reign. It�d be one thing if you wanted to be sovereign and control everything, but you didn�t have the power, but you�re going to have to have power if you�re going to be sovereign.

Praise God for that. Now we move to a marriage announcement.

I officiated a wedding last week, and all eyes on the bride. All eyes on the bride, even when we�re doing rehearsal.

I know the man�s the man, and the man�s the head of the household, but there�s no household yet because they�re not married, and so I want the bride to be happy, the bride to be.

What do you think about this? Should we stand here, spacing there? Here, though, focus of attention, the groom.

�Let us rejoice and exult and give him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and his bride has made herself ready.

It was granted her to clothe herself with fine linen, bright and pure, for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints.�

She�s received this. She�s been granted this. Angel said to me, �Write this.

Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.� And he said to me, �These are the true words of God.�

I fell down on his feet to worship him, but he said, �You must not do that. I�m a fellow servant with you and your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus.

Worship God. Get up.� I just had the �get up� part. �For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.�

Now we come to the day, that day. Luther said there�s two days in his calendar, today and that day,

Judgment Day. Here it comes. One man said of this section of the book of Revelation that it�s almost too glorious for exposition.

Here�s the return of Christ. No donkeys, no humility, no eyes with tears, no thorns for a crown, no nakedness with shame.

It�s going to be exactly opposite. This passage is a warrior passage. This passage is the king passage.

This passage is chilling, clear. Solomon knew there was going to be a time for judgment.

And we see it right here. Then I saw heaven opened,

Revelation 19, 11, and behold, a white horse. The one sitting on it is called faithful and true, and in righteousness he judges and wages war.

Heaven gets opened, and the language is it�s open and it stays open, stays open.

Who is this? Well, Revelation 1 told us he�s coming with the clouds and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over him, even so, amen.

The Lord Jesus is returning, and he�s on a white horse of this conquering, victorious triumph.

Son of David bringing, no, not salvation as he rides into Jerusalem, but bringing judgment on the great white charger, animal of warfare.

This is all Roman triumphal procession language when the general comes back into the main street of Rome.

Who is it who sits on this horse? His name is faithful and true. He did say he would judge, and now judgment�s happening.

You can trust him. Everything about him is right. He�s keeping his promises, yes and amen, and in righteousness he judges and wages war.

God�s wrath is against sinners. It�s true. His eyes are like a flame of fire.

On his head are many diadems, and he has a name written that no one knows but himself. When you see eyes flame of fire, when you see this piercing, penetrating gaze, it�s judgment.

It�s judgment, fierce gaze, penetrating gaze.

He sees everything. No more stacked courts, no more paid off judges.

No, no. He sees it all, and he�s the king too.

He�s got many diadems on his head. No more thorns. And in those days, if you were superior, you don�t have to tell people your name.

That�s the idea here. He�s got greater authority. He�s supreme. He just knows his name.

He�s clothed with a robe, verse 13, dipped in blood, and the name by which he is called is the word of God.

This isn�t blood from Calvary. This is blood that�s going to be spilled. This is in anticipation.

This is the warrior who slaughters, blood sloshing, blood splashing.

Isaiah 63, why is your apparel red and your garments like the one who treads in the wine press? I have trodden the wine trough alone, and from the peoples there was no man with me.

I also trod them in my anger and trampled them in my wrath, and their lifeblood is sprinkled on my garments, and I stained all my raiment.

Do you notice? White, white, white, white, white, white, white, blood. White horse, white saints.

Saints� horses are white. Cloud�s white. Blood. And he�s called the word of God.

The armies of heaven are raided in white linen, fine linen, white and pure. We�re following him on white horses.

See, everything�s white. They don�t have any swords because they don�t need to.

They�re behind the king. Clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

This reminds me of 2 Thessalonians 1, 7. And to give relief to you who are afflicted, and to us as well, when the

Lord Jesus will be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels in flaming fire. From his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and he will rule them with a rod of iron.

He will tread the wine press of the fury of the wrath of God, the Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh, he has a name written.

King of kings and Lord of lords. When you look at a rider on a horse, what�s at eye level? His thigh.

Here�s his name. King of kings and Lord of lords. And please spare me that Jesus has got a tattoo on his leg.

That�s not the point here. Judgment�s coming. So, let�s back up because time�s flying by.

You live in this world. It seems so unfair. People get off the hook for things that they did.

People didn�t do things and they�re on the hook. It seems like everything�s crazy. Even the

Supreme Court makes bad decisions. Maybe there�s some corrupt people on the Supreme Court. You never know what�s going on in the minds of all these people.

But one day there�s going to be judgment. So, now we�re living this life and we go, �Okay, I can leave that to God. I can pray for judgment.

I can pray for righteousness. I can pray for justice, but I don�t have to enact it. I don�t have to exact it.

I don�t have to say I can�t sleep at night if I can�t see it happening right before my very eyes because it is inevitable and it will be an ultimate judgment.
