- Astrologers are predicting the results of America's election. Spoiler alert, astrology is both incredibly foolish and dangerous.
- 00:07
- Actual astrology is very complex like any kind of data science. Nope. So if this is a science, shouldn't they all agree on like the one person that's going to win the presidency?
- 00:19
- Only the Lord knows who's going to take the presidency. And either way, it doesn't matter because Jesus will still be king in November.
- 00:27
- Amen. Kamala Harris or Donald Trump?
- 00:35
- Astrologers know who will be the next president of the United States. Why? Well, because the signs are in the stars, they say.
- 00:41
- But wait a second. What are we supposed to make of all this as Christians? What does the Bible say about astrology? We're going to get into all of that in just a moment.
- 00:47
- But first, welcome back to Wise Disciple. My name is Nate, and I'm helping you become the effective Christian that you were meant to be. That includes understanding astrology and seeing the future from a biblical perspective.
- 00:57
- As you watch this video, if you think it's helpful, make sure to like and subscribe and even share this with someone else. It just helps me to get the word out about this ministry.
- 01:04
- All right. We got an article here from The Economist, and it says, Astrologers are predicting the results of America's election.
- 01:11
- Spreading their forecast through social media can be lucrative and divisive. Donald Trump's horoscope illuminates the laptop screen.
- 01:19
- He's going to enter the peak of his life in April 25. Helena Woods, a professional astrologer, tells your correspondent a
- 01:25
- Pisces. The former president's birth chart, a wheel of zodiac symbols, is a snapshot of his destiny, determined by the positions of planets across different aspects or houses of his life.
- 01:36
- That includes his relationships, his career, and the upcoming election. The exact time of Mr.
- 01:42
- Trump's birth is required for the most accurate reading. This detail is sourced online. As for Kamala Harris, Jupiter and Saturn are aligning in her favor.
- 01:51
- If she does win, I do think she might carry out two terms, says Ms. Woods. If she does win, shouldn't the astrologer know who's going to win?
- 02:02
- Isn't the title of this article literally, they are predicting they know who's going to win the presidency?
- 02:08
- By the way, stay with me. I'm going to show you what the Bible has to say about all of this. Spoiler alert.
- 02:13
- Astrology is both incredibly foolish and dangerous. Astrologers have long claimed to be able to chart the fate of politicians.
- 02:20
- One advised Ronald Reagan and Nancy Reagan ahead of meetings with world leaders.
- 02:27
- That's interesting. Did you know that? Take a look at this. This is a PBS article.
- 02:32
- Astrologer who helped guide President Reagan's schedule dies at 87.
- 02:38
- Joan Quigley, the astrologer who helped determine President Ronald Reagan's schedule and claimed to have convinced him to soften his stance toward the
- 02:43
- Soviet Union, has died. This was back in 2014. Quigley, Reagan began consulting
- 02:51
- Quigley, Nancy Reagan, after the 1981 assassination attempt on her husband. She wanted to keep him from getting shot again.
- 02:58
- Nancy wrote in her 1989 memoir, My Turn. So Nancy Reagan brought in the astrologer.
- 03:07
- I wonder what Ronald Reagan thought of this. Quigley would go on to advise Nancy Reagan on dates for presidential trips and news conferences.
- 03:14
- Here it is. The president became aware of the consultations and warned his wife to be careful because it might look odd if it came out,
- 03:21
- Nancy wrote in her book. Okay. The consultations were revealed to great embarrassment for the White House in an 88 book by former
- 03:27
- White House Chief of Staff for Donald Reagan, who blamed the first lady for his ouster a year earlier. Reagan said almost every major move and decision the
- 03:34
- Reagans made during his time as chief of staff was cleared in advance with a woman in San Francisco who drew up horoscopes.
- 03:41
- He did not know her identity. It was the astrologer. It was the lady who was the astrologer. Wow. I wonder if that'll be in the upcoming
- 03:50
- Reagan movie. All right, let's go back to the first article. Now, astrologers are captivating a new generation.
- 03:58
- In 2022, 37 % of Americans aged between 18 to 29 said they believe in astrology.
- 04:05
- Ms. Woods, who has almost 100 ,000 subscribers across two YouTube channels, is one of many astrologers using social media to reach them.
- 04:13
- Of course she is. I mean, I'll bet she's on TikTok too, right? Or if not her, like many like her.
- 04:19
- The new age movement, ladies and gentlemen, is thriving on social media. TikTok especially.
- 04:25
- It's a real problem. Why? Because this all leads down a dangerous path, away from the
- 04:31
- Lord, and further and further into idolatry. And for some reason, there are many people, young people specifically on TikTok, they're searching for meaning, but they're looking for it in the wrong place.
- 04:45
- They're adopting the wrong narrative in order to find the wrong solution.
- 04:53
- We're about to get into what this all means from the Bible and why it's idolatry. I'm going to read a little bit more. Election cycles are an opportunity to go viral.
- 05:00
- Evan Nathaniel Grimm has accumulated 400 ,000 TikTok followers, there it is, and millions of views filming horoscope videos and cosmically informed forecasts about the news.
- 05:09
- He touts a long list of accurate predictions, including that a very volatile event was on the cards for Mr.
- 05:15
- Trump before the assassination attempt happened. Yeah, here's the thing. Astrology is, it's devilish.
- 05:24
- I mentioned this in a previous video, but the biblical concept of stars is bigger than what we think it is.
- 05:31
- It entails not only the gaseous bodies floating in space, but also the concept of the divine beings that God created.
- 05:40
- In other words, the stars are symbolic of the various creatures that God created that make up his heavenly host.
- 05:47
- That's why the Bible talks about stars in this way. Look at this. This is Judges 5, verse 19. The kings came, they fought, then fought the kings of Canaan.
- 05:57
- And then look at this. From heaven, so this is also happening at the same time, verse 20. The stars fought.
- 06:04
- From their courses, they fought against Sisera. In other words, this great battle that is taking place on the ground on the earth is also being mirrored by another battle that is taking place in heaven.
- 06:18
- This was the common view of the Jews in biblical times that while kings fought on the earth, the angelic beings, the host of heaven was also fighting at the same time.
- 06:29
- That's why when it says the stars fought, it's not referring to the sun and other gaseous beings in outer space.
- 06:37
- It's referring to the divine beings in heaven that God also created. But wait a second. This is why the great dragon in Revelation 12 does this.
- 06:46
- Verse 4. His tail swept down a third of the stars of heaven and cast them to the earth.
- 06:52
- And the dragon stood before the woman. So then when she was going to bear her child, he might devour it. These are not real stars that are being cast to the earth.
- 07:02
- Even if you were to think about this, that doesn't even make any sense. That can't be literal. A star would completely obliterate the earth.
- 07:09
- So that's not meant to be understood literally. That's not what John is talking about. He's talking about a third of the heavenly host that God created.
- 07:17
- This is a reference to the devil and his angels being thrown down to the earth. How do you know that,
- 07:23
- Nate? Thanks for asking. Look down a couple of verses. It says it right there plainly. Verse 9. And the great dragon was thrown down.
- 07:29
- That ancient serpent who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world. He was thrown down to the earth and who?
- 07:36
- His angels were thrown down with him. It's right there, ladies and gentlemen, if you have the eyes to see it.
- 07:44
- So the idea of stars referring to the divine beings that God created in heaven, that's all over the place in the scripture.
- 07:56
- Now, this is what I'm trying to say. See, see this article. See astrology through the biblical lens.
- 08:03
- What is astrology essentially teaching? That the stars and the planets have the power to control you.
- 08:10
- That your destiny can be discovered if you put your focus and attention, not on God, not on the creator who made you, but on the stars and the planets who can tell you who you really are and what you're going to do with your life.
- 08:23
- As I've said many times, this is not only a recipe for disaster in this life. It's a recipe for hell in the next life.
- 08:29
- Mr. Grimm does not see Mr. Trump on the ticket after October, owing in part to an upcoming Aries full moon.
- 08:36
- Earning a good reputation can be lucrative. Mr. Grimm says he has completed thousands of private readings for paying clients, charging up to $750 for sessions.
- 08:44
- Many astrologers put their juiciest forecasts behind paywalls. Allied Market Research, a firm of analysts, reckons the value of the global astrology market will reach $22 .8
- 08:56
- billion by 2031, up from $12 .8 billion in 2022.
- 09:03
- That's almost double where it is right now. Unbelievable. But look at this.
- 09:11
- A revived interest in New Age mysticism, more broadly buoyed by a hunt for meaning during the pandemic, has helped.
- 09:20
- Let me read that again. That's very insightful. A revived interest in New Age mysticism, more broadly, buoyed by a hunt for meaning during the pandemic, has helped.
- 09:33
- Google searches for tarot in America have spiked since 2020. Millions of people now watch crystal -laden psychic shuffle cards on TikTok and YouTube.
- 09:42
- Politics stimulates the market. Every four years, every astrologer or person who thinks they're an astrologer comes out predicting presidential races.
- 09:50
- Actual astrology is very complex, like any kind of data science. Nope. This is not science.
- 10:00
- This has nothing to do with science. Just because the rotation of the Earth and the stars and other planets is fixed, by the way, because of how
- 10:08
- God created the world, has nothing to do with your mood, your behavior, or your destiny.
- 10:14
- Those claims are not scientific. They're religious. Ms. Rivers, who does not read the news when she is predicting, sees
- 10:21
- Ms. Harris winning the election overwhelmingly. Okay, so there you have it.
- 10:26
- You heard it here first, folks. According to astrologers, Kamala Harris will win the presidency. Oops, I got the headline wrong.
- 10:33
- According to false idol worshippers, Kamala Harris will win. Even astrology is not without polarization.
- 10:40
- Ms. Woods has paused making political videos because they were causing intense division. Amy Tripp, an astrologer with almost 150 ,000 followers on X, reports being canceled over some of her interpretations.
- 10:51
- However, Ms. Tripp, who predicts Mr. Trump will win, says that she can make objective forecasts because she is an
- 10:58
- Aquarius. It's not funny.
- 11:06
- Hold on a second. So if this is a science, shouldn't they all agree on, like, the one person that's going to win the presidency?
- 11:15
- Shouldn't they? You know what I mean? Like, if this is objective, I don't know. As it turns out, astrologers don't know who's going to win either.
- 11:24
- Only the Lord knows who's going to take the presidency. And either way, it doesn't matter because Jesus will still be king in November.
- 11:32
- Amen? All right, look, that's enough out of this article. You heard me talk about the biblical concept of stars and what that means to put your focus and attention on seeking to use the stars as a means to understand who you are and what you should do in this life.
- 11:47
- But what does the Bible say about this practice, the practice of astrology?
- 11:53
- Watch this. Did you know that the Babylonians were some of the first folks to use astrology, who made it popular and taught it to others?
- 12:03
- Astrology is part of what Daniel was forced to learn when he was taken captive by the Babylonians back in Daniel, the first couple of chapters of Daniel there.
- 12:12
- But the Bible is very clear about practicing astrology. Look at what God has to say to the
- 12:17
- Babylonians in Isaiah 47. By the way, real quick, this app I'm using to read the Bible, it's called Logos, and it's a game changer for the student of scripture.
- 12:26
- Granted, you've seen other videos, I'm talking about this quite a bit, but it's because I use this myself every single day.
- 12:32
- So do yourself a favor, go to logos .com forward slash wise disciple and check out some of the latest discounts.
- 12:38
- I promise you it's going to bless you if you do. All right. This is what the Lord says to Babylon.
- 12:43
- Watch this. Verse one, come down and sit in the dust. Oh, virgin daughter of Babylon, your nakedness shall be uncovered and your disgrace shall be seen.
- 12:52
- I will take vengeance and I will spare no one. So it's not good news for Babylon. But watch this.
- 12:58
- Stand fast, verse 12, in your enchantments and your many sorceries with which you have labored from your youth.
- 13:05
- Perhaps you may be able to succeed. Perhaps you may inspire terror. You are wearied with your many counsels.
- 13:12
- Let them stand forth and save you. Here it is. Those who divide the heavens, who gaze at the stars, who at the new moons make known what shall come upon you.
- 13:25
- Behold, they are like stubble. The fire consumes them. They cannot deliver themselves from the power of the flame.
- 13:32
- In other words, you who glory in your astrological abilities, right?
- 13:37
- You say that you can tell what's going to happen based on the alignment of the planets and the stars.
- 13:42
- You will not be saved. You can't stop what's coming. Your knowledge won't save you.
- 13:49
- Why? Because nothing is greater than the power and the might of the one true God. The power that comes from astrology is derived.
- 13:57
- It comes from false gods who desire you to worship them. By the way, did you know that in the book of Enoch, which is not canon, so don't hear what
- 14:06
- I'm not saying, but Enoch gives an explanation as to the true source of astrology.
- 14:12
- Guess where it came from? The divine beings that came to earth and desired the daughters of men in Genesis chapter 6.
- 14:20
- They taught mankind these astrological wicked practices and the Bible condemns all of it.
- 14:26
- Take a look at this. Jeremiah chapter 10 verse 2. Learn not the way of the nations, nor be dismayed at the, here it is again, the signs of the heavens, because the nations are dismayed at them for the customs, these things, the customs of the peoples, they're vanity.
- 14:42
- The signs of the heavens is a reference to astrology. The nations seek these signs, but they do so in vain.
- 14:48
- Why? Because it's idolatry. Look at this verse 11. Thus you shall say to them, the gods who did not make the heavens and the earth shall perish from the earth and from under the heavens.
- 15:00
- Verse 21. For the shepherds are stupid and do not inquire of the
- 15:05
- Lord. Therefore, therefore they have not prospered and all their flock is scattered. In other words, you want to know what your future holds.
- 15:13
- You want to know who you really are. Ask God, ask the one who made you.
- 15:20
- Look at verse 23. I know, oh Lord, that the way of man is not in himself.
- 15:26
- That it is not in man who walks to direct his steps. Stop looking inside yourself, friends, as if there is some mystical solution to your deepest questions.
- 15:37
- By the way, that is the number one talking point from new age mysticism, astrological or otherwise.
- 15:44
- It's what they want you to do. That's what astrology is designed to get you to do.
- 15:49
- Stop seeking the savior and seek the self. Look inward. Look to the time that you were born to the month for some reason.
- 15:58
- Look to the stars that were in alignment on your birthday and rely on them to tell you who you are and what you should do.
- 16:04
- These are lies, ladies and gentlemen, and they will send you on the path away from God and straight to hell.
- 16:12
- It's amazing how innocent and even charming some of these lies are. They're couched inside these attractive little promises like learn who the next president is going to be, guys.
- 16:22
- Meanwhile, they don't even know. Learn who you really are, friends.
- 16:28
- Figure out what you should do with your life. But keep your focus not on idols, but on the
- 16:34
- Lord. Keep your attention situated on the sun instead of the stars.
- 16:42
- Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Lean on him. Look to him.
- 16:47
- Ask him who you are and what you should do, and he will tell you. And his answer will actually give you the deepest fulfillment of purpose and meaning that you'll ever experience.
- 16:55
- I promise you. All right. Well, that's enough out of me. What do you think about horoscopes?
