February 12, 2021 Show with Dr. Jason M. Garwood on “Health for All of Life: A Medical Manifesto of Hope & Healing for the Nations” (Part 2)

Iron Sharpens Iron Radio Introduction and the Theme of Health as a Gospel Issue

Live from the historic parsonage of the 19th century gospel minister George Norcross in downtown Carlisle, Pennsylvania, it's Iron Sharpens Iron. This is a radio platform in which pastors, Christian scholars, and theologians address the burning issues facing the church and the world today.

Proverbs 27, verse 17 tells us, Iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another. Matthew Henry said that in this passage, we are cautioned to take heed with whom we converse and directed to have a view in conversation to make one another wiser and better.

It is our hope that this goal will be accomplished over the next two hours, and we hope to hear from you, the listener, with your own questions. And now, here's your host, Chris Arnzen.

Good afternoon, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, Lake City, Florida, and the rest of humanity living on the planet Earth. We're listening via live streaming at ironsharpensironradio .com. This is Chris Arnzen, your host of Iron Sharpens Iron Radio, wishing you all a happy Friday on this 12th day of February 2021.

And as I said, I believe yesterday that this Sunday is my birthday. So I'm urging all of you who live nearby a BMW dealership to keep me in mind this weekend. And today we have on the program, not only a returning guest, but also a first time co-host.

We have returning to the program, Dr. Jason M. Garwood, who is teaching pastor at Cross and Crown Church in Northern Virginia. And he's a writer, activist, and professor at Cross and Crown Seminary. And we are going to be addressing today part two of a discussion on his book, Health for All of Life, a medical manifesto of hope and healing for the nations.

And it's my honor and privilege, first of all, to welcome you back for the second time, Dr. Jason M. Garwood.

Thank you, Chris. Happy to be here with you.

And we have joining us for the very first time on the program, as my co-host today, Bill Evans, he's the creator of healthforalloflife .com. He is also the founder of Kingdom Driven LLC. And he is known as the truck driver theologian.

And I know actually, believe it or not, I know several truck driver theologians, men who are involved in secular labors, but have brilliant theological minds and are very biblically literate, and are very capable of writing books on their own, actually.

And I know of one that is actually working on a book right now on eschatology. In fact, eschatology that I think my guests would agree with today, because he's a post millennialist. But it's my honor and privilege to welcome for the very first time ever, to Onion Shop and Zion Radio serving as my co-host today, Bill Evans.

It's great to have you on the show today, Bill. Well, before we go into a discussion on the book, if you could, especially for the sake of our listeners, Dr. Garwood, who have not heard you before, tell our listeners about Crossing Crown Church in Northern Virginia.

Sure, crossing the size, attractive, hope-serving one another.

If anybody wants more information about Crossing Crown Church, go to crosscrownchurch .com, crosscrownchurch .com. And Bill Evans, since you are a first-time guest on the program, actually, you'll be our co-host today, featuring this book that you are heavily involved in creating, or basically the brainchild behind it for Dr. Garwood to create.

But tell our listeners something about your background, if you could, in a summary fashion. Tell our listeners something about your salvation testimony, what kind of religious atmosphere you were raised in, and what kind of providential circumstances our Lord raised up in your life that drew you to himself and saved you.

Since both you and I are going to be spending the majority of the program asking Dr. Garwood questions, since he did write the book, I do want to ask the first question of you to start with anyway, and Dr. Garwood can chime in also.

But Bill, I understand that this book was a work of providence, so tell our listeners how.

Well, and Jason, do you have anything to add to that,.

As far as the providential circumstances behind the writing of this book?

He tells the story. I'd like to expand on these concepts. I had preached a sermon on vaccines, and tried to get my friend to earn a salary, tuck myself away, really study this, learn from it, and write this.

And then, yeah, it was only within a few hours that Bill had sent me that message. Well, you know, there are people who, from time to time on my program,.

Or should I say in the audience of my program, will say you should be sticking more to gospel issues, Chris. The side issues may be fascinating. There are enough people out there doing side issues outside of the gospel.

And who knows, there might even be some saying, why is Chris talking about health and nutrition and all that on his show? We like it when he's discussing theology. So, Dr. Garwood, why is health a gospel issue?

Yeah, well, Bill referred to this early on, Van Til's influence in his image, he created with him in holiness and righteousness. Of course, we know sin entered into the world and corrupted that. And so, fundamentally, the gospel is men, women, and children needing to find hope and healing, and become spirit and the material.

We are Christians who believe that God created us to determine what makes a person. We are rational creatures, yes, but we are not to be rationalists. We aren't just minds that think, which wants to bring healing to the nation today.

I don't know how else to read Isaiah 6. So that's why it's ultimately a gospel issue, because as Christ died, he purchased the nations with his blood. He ascended and asked the Father for the nations.

I spend more in the first chapter explaining that when we die on earth now, so that we might be, and so that he might put his enemies under. And by the way, Bill, for some reason,.

You were a lot more distant the last time you spoke. So I don't know what changed, but try to make sure that your volume is turned up or your face is closer to your phone or however you're doing that.

Just so we make sure that it's clearly heard by everybody. And also remember, since I can't see you, I can't see you waving your hand or any facial expressions, when you see a lull in the conversation, just chime in like you just did and answer any question you feel like answering or ask any question as well.

Would you say, since all three of us are Reformed, we might be different persuasions of Reformed theology, but would you say that perhaps we who are Reformed are typically among the most guilty about neglecting health as any kind of a gospel issue?

...teaching doctrine, and at the end of Romans 11, and at the end, he just sort of blurts out, to God be glory forever. Amen. You know, from him and to him and through him are all things. And so I think there has to be a balance of both.

And when we really overate other things, like how we feel and our emotions, hanging out in this decrepit body, and someday we'll get a new body. Well, that's true. We believe in resurrection. But in the here and now, when you're sick, you're out of the fight.

Christ is risen. He's undoing Adam's sin. He's World Camp, maybe. I don't know that they're the most guilty. In the Reformed church area, languages, ethnology, and homiletics, and so we may prefer life based on...

The Book’s Structure and the Health Triad

Dr. Garwood, the book itself is uniquely laid out. Why don't you tell us how it's laid out and why this is the case?

And then, of course, Ephesians is a lot laid out like that. And then you have imperative, these commands, in light of this, how do you live? And so as Bill and I were talking through this and trying to really come up with a game plan to...

How do we take the website, the website that has a ton of great information from a lot of wonderful doctors and naturopathic physicians and so on? How do we take that stuff and we put it into a book form?

Like you said, what there happens... And you're trying to... Explanation of the landscape. Mentioned it a second ago, this building, a multi-million dollar building. And some people might be thinking, wow, this is not evidence, not evidence at all.

We see the effects of sin, even if they're hidden behind. What is going on in the medical forms now, especially Instagram account?

Yeah, it's interesting to see an ally coming from the left of many conservatives who are rallying together with concern over vaccines and other things.

Yeah, yeah, it is. There's quite a lot of... We want somebody to hear the gospel. They want it. We want them to know who Jesus is and why it matters. He's a gospel.

And we have to go to our first break right now. I think Bill was beginning to speak, but if you could hold your thought, Bill, and don't forget what you were going to say, because we'll take you when we come back from the break.

And if anybody would like to join us with a question, send the question in as soon as you can, but we are going to hold off till probably the last 45 minutes or so to begin reading the questions. But if you want to get your question assured to be read, send it in as soon as you can to chrisarnson at gmail .com.

Chrisarnson at gmail .com. Give us your first name at least, your city and state of residence, and your country of residence if you live outside the USA. Only remain anonymous if your question involves a personal and private matter.

Don't go away. We'll be right back with Dr. Jason Garwood.

The Medical Manifesto and Critique of Big Pharma

Are you tired of looking for the silver bullet when it comes to health and wellness? Are you frustrated with the medical status quo which masks symptoms and doesn't treat the root problem of sickness?

More importantly, are you looking for one of the most unique books ever written which gives you safe, low cost, and proven options to regain your health the way God intended? Then look no further than my new book, Health for All of Life, a medical manifesto of hope and healing for the nations.

Hi, I'm Jason Garwood, and I'm a husband, father, pastor, and writer whose passion for helping people led me to write this book. If 2020 has proven anything, it's that big pharma, big tech, and big government knows nothing about how to treat people naturally without poisoning them with synthetic drugs and experimental vaccines.

But what if God has given us a better way? What if we can take the Christian worldview found in the Bible and apply it to health and wellness? My book, Health for All of Life, does just that. You can find this exciting new book on Amazon.

Pick up a copy for yourself and for your friends and family. Give the gift of health and don't be a dead end to truth.

Was your business shut down during the COVID -19 pandemic, depriving you of earning any money, causing you to default on your rent as you try to survive without income? Maybe you've had to close your doors for good.

The good news, you thought, was that you purchased business interruption insurance as a part of your business liability policy with a major insurance company who told you they are a good neighbor or that you would be in good hands.

You filed a claim only to be told that it was denied due to the pandemic exclusion clause. The pandemic exclusion? Since 2006, most insurance companies added this clause to enable them to deny your income loss claims in the event of a worldwide pandemic.

It's such a joy to witness and experience fellowship with people of God, like the dear saints at Hope Reform Baptist Church in Coram, who have an intensely passionate desire to continue digging deeper and deeper into the unfathomable riches of Christ in his holy word and to enthusiastically proclaim Christ Jesus the King and his doctrines of sovereign grace in Suffolk County, Long Island, and beyond.

James White of Alpha Omega Ministries here. If you've watched my Dividing Line webcast often enough, you know I have a great love for getting Bibles and other documents vital to my ministry rebound to preserve and ensure their longevity.

And besides that, they feel so good. I'm so delighted I discovered post-Tenebrous Lux Bible rebinding. No radio ad will be long enough to sing their praises sufficiently, but I'll give it a shot. Jeffrey Rice of Post-Tenebrous Lux is a remarkably gifted craftsman and artisan.

All his work is done by hand, from the cutting to the pleating of corners to the perimeter stitching. Jeffrey uses the finest and buttery soft imported leathers in a wide variety of gorgeous colors, like the turquoise goatskin tanned in Italy used for my Nestle All in 28th edition with a navy blue goatskin inside liner and the electric blue goatskin from a French tannery used to rebind a Reformation study Bible I used as a gift.

The silver gilding he added on the page edges has a stunning mirror finish resembling highly polished chrome. Jeffrey will customize your rebinding to your specifications and even emboss your logo into the leather, making whatever he rebinds a one-of-a-kind work of art.

Welcome back. I was just given some emergency prayer request information. Many of you, I'm sure, know and love Vody Baucom. He's one of my favorite preachers of all time. In fact, I just saw him preach in person about two weeks ago here in Pennsylvania at a conference.

I have just been notified that he is experiencing heart failure right now and is in urgent need of prayer. This information comes right from his ministry, so it's not hearsay. So please pray for Dr. Vody Baucom, one of the most valuable speakers and authors alive in the Christian church today.

And that is not hyperbole. That is not exaggeration or flattery. He is a precious brother and an extremely valuable one at that. So please pray for the full recovery of Vody Baucom. And we have now returned to our discussion today, our interview with Dr. Jason M. Garwood, who is teaching pastor at Cross and Crown Church in Northern Virginia.

And he is a writer, activist, and professor at Cross and Crown Seminary. We are discussing part two of a discussion we began back in January on Health for All of Life, a medical manifesto of hope and healing for the nations.

This is a new book by Dr. Garwood, and it actually came into existence largely because of the support of Bill Evans, my co-host, creator of healthforalloflife .com, who is known as the truck driver theologian and a podcast host.

And it's great to have them both on the program. And if I'm not mistaken, Bill, you were starting to say something right before the break. Are you there, Bill? You're breaking up.

Can you hear me?

Now I can.

Normal life and fever, dingy fever. Praise God.

Skepticism Toward the Medical Establishment and Public Health Narratives

Well, Bill was mentioning some of this before the break, but Dr. Garwood, what should the Christian attitude be towards the medical establishment today? Obviously, it's not a monolith. There are people I know in the medical establishment that have a lot of complaints about the very field that they're in.

Obviously, every pro-life Christian who's in the medical field is disgusted and horrified by the number of men and women who are licensed physicians murdering children in the womb. And we could go on and on and on.

But obviously, there's good and bad involved. But what should the Christian attitude be?

Yeah, that's true. There is good and bad. But I know when you go for nutrition, they tell you these are the vaccines you're supposed to take. I think there's just a lot of good, certainly. But I think there's a lot of bad.

And I think a lot of it stems from Paul Seitz in the book, came out, and it really went on America and really John Hopkins into the health industry. And now today, we have you sit at home and maybe you watch a commercial and take this if you're feeling this way.

But just a reminder that if you take this drug, your eyeballs might pop in, you can make money and a ton of money. And so I think there's just a ton of skepticism we should have, especially with regard to the government response.

One thing we try to do in the book in chlorine dioxide establishment, of course, we're supposed to believe that they have everything. You have heart disease issues, you have cancer. But the third and fourth right in line, assuming abortion, of course, is the number one killer.

Looking at medical mistakes of dollars of medical mistakes that happen. Adverse drugs just one after the other and they interact with each other and they just don't know how they...

Disturbing and frightening actually. When I have spoken with physicians who have told me that they know that much of what so-called scientists and doctors are saying in the media who happened to be banging the drum to support leftist approaches to the coronavirus and leftist mandates and so on.

These physicians that I've spoken with have told me that these people who know better, who are trained physicians are lying. Basically, some of the things they say about masks being very, very helpful to stop the spread of the coronavirus and it is not only a lie, but laughably so.

You're basically defying elementary understanding of immunology and so on. So this is quite a frustrating and scary time we're living in. And you've got to raise your voice again, Bill.

I don't know if you can hear me.

Yeah, now I can hear you.

Can you hear me?

Now I can.

All around us, people are very much concerned. It's really a molehill that's been turned into a mountain. Problem is, and I've had people from churches tell me, people are afraid. And the reason why they're afraid, Chris, is because they don't know what to do.

In Hosea, we're told, my people perish for lack of knowledge. And this is nowhere more. We have to go to our midway break right now.

And the midway break, as anyone knows who listens to this show regularly, is longer than the other breaks because Grace Life Radio, one of the stations that airs this program, they are required by the FCC to air their own public service announcements and other things that localize this program and all of their programming to Lake City, Florida, geographically.

So please be patient with us as we take this longer break. And use this time wisely. We simultaneously air our globally heard commercials while they air their locally heard public service announcements.

So please write down as much of the information as you can for as many of these advertisers as you can so that you can more frequently and successfully patronize them, which will enable us to remain on the air for a longer period of time.

We absolutely positively depend upon the finances that come in through our advertising dollars. So please, I know that many of you, when you listen to a recording of the show, you just fast forward through all the ads.

Well, I understand you're doing that maybe even most of the time, but don't do it all the time. Please write down the information for as many ads as you can and patronize them when possible. Purchase their products, use their services, visit their churches, support their ministries financially.

But also, when you can't do those things, at least, at the very least, thank them for sponsoring Iron Trump and Zion Radio through whatever contact information they provide. That is, if indeed you love the show and you don't want it to disappear.

So do that during this break and also send in questions for my guest, Dr. Jason Garwood, who is the author of Health for All of Life. And that email address is chrisarnson at gmail .com. Chrisarnson at gmail .com.

As always, give us your first name, at least your city and state of residence and your country of residence if you live outside the USA. Don't go away. We'll be right back after these messages.

As host of Iron Sharpens Iron Radio, I frequently get requests from listeners for church recommendations. A church I've been strongly recommending as far back as the 1980s is Grace Covenant Baptist Church in Flemington, New Jersey, pastored by Alan Dunn.

Grace Covenant Baptist Church believes it's God's prerogative to determine how he shall be worshiped and how he shall be represented in the world. They believe churches need to turn to the Bible to discover what to include in worship and how to worship God in spirit and truth.

Grace Covenant Baptist Church endeavors to maintain a God-centered focus. Reading, preaching, and hearing the word of God, singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, baptism, and communion are the scriptural elements of their corporate worship, performed with faith, joy, and sobriety.

Hi, this is John Sampson, pastor of King's Church in Peoria, Arizona. Taking a moment of your day to talk about Chris Arnzen and the Iron Sharpens Iron podcast. I consider Chris a true friend and a man of high integrity.

He's a skilled interviewer who's not afraid to ask the big penetrating questions while always defending the key doctrines of the Christian faith. I've always been happy to point people to this podcast knowing it's one of the very few safe places on the internet where folk won't be led astray.

I believe this podcast needs to be heard far and wide. This is a day of great spiritual compromise and yet God has raised Chris up for just such a time. And knowing this, it's up to us as members of the body of Christ to stand with such a ministry in prayer and in finances.

I'm pleased to do so and would like to ask you to prayerfully consider joining me in supporting Iron Sharpens Iron financially. Would you consider sending either a one-time gift or even becoming a regular monthly partner with this ministry?

I know it would be a huge encouragement to Chris if you would. All the details can be found at ironsharpensironradio .com where you can click support. That's ironsharpensironradio .com.
