Morning y 'all This is Pastor Ben and this is another time out.
I hope everybody's having a good morning This is a beautiful day going to be a beautiful day
Our scripture today comes from Hebrews chapter 11 Hang on a minute.
I'm in the office today.
So Getting ready for staff me everybody's getting ready for staff meeting. So Anyway, uh our
Verses from our verses are from Hebrews chapter 11 verses 24 through 26 and it says by faith
Moses when he was grown up refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter
Choosing rather to be mistreated with the people of God Than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin
What's up, Lisa Julie? Justin Rather he
Than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin. Sorry. He considered the reproach of Christ Greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt for he was looking to the reward
So What's up, so he uh
He he grew up in the land of Egypt and he
Refused later on in life to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter
And Rather he chose to be mistreated with the people of God So there are four things
I want you to realize and kind of take home with you one is The first one is it takes faith to stand with the people of God during persecution
When hope seems to be lost so for the for the Hebrews they were being
In they were in slavery with the Egyptians and They really this was this was after Joseph another
Pharaoh was in charge and Moses was was in the house of Pharaoh and so For the
Hebrews they didn't know If this would ever end You know slavery they needed a
Redeemer and so God was about to raise up Moses to be their deliverer and So Moses knowing that the
Hebrew people were his people He he refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter choosing rather to be mistreated with the people of God So first it takes faith to stand with the people of God during persecution
When hope seems to be lost when there seems to be absolutely no hope Now no notice.
I said it seems to be now. There's always hope in Christ for every situation
There's always hope in Christ. First of all realize that our hope is in a person
It's it's it's it you have to realize scripture scripture
This is this is a book Okay, the it shares what our hope is in our hope is not it's not this
It's in Jesus. It's in God. It's in his promises. It's in who he is Okay So our hope is in a person, okay
Not necessarily in a book it's in it's in who he is his promises his word is a person
Jesus so So remember that So First the number
I'll say it again first It takes faith to stand with the people of God during persecution when hope seems to be lost.
There is always hope in Jesus Because he will always exist Until he calls us home
When he calls the Christians Out of here, then you can then you can begin to worry but but uh, you know
There will be a time when he says that is enough My wrath is about to come down and And that's when you really need to be.
Okay, I've done messed up, you know But but as far as as far as when there is hope
Today is the day of salvation If you're not right with Jesus, you need to get right with Jesus as soon as possible because we don't know when he's coming back
We don't know when the end is we can know the season we can know the certain You know season of when that might come but we don't know the day or the hour
So Secondly is it takes faith to live by the promises of God when the fleeting pleasures of sin are all around us
It says in verse 24 through 23
Then then he it says by faith Moses when he was grown up refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter
Choosing rather to be mistreated with the people of God then to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin so Takes faith to take on the promises of God when when sin seems so pleasurable when sin seems so real and so tangible and so good
You know, it's so hard to cling to the promises of God It takes faith to do that and God what he does in his people is he gives us a desire to obey him
He gives us a desire to to cling closely to him and say you know what? I'm gonna obey
God whether rain sleet snow You know Tornado hurricane, whatever may come.
I'm going to obey God whatever trials come whatever Hardships come
I'm going to obey God. I am going to follow his promises I'm going to cling to his promises no matter what the fleeting pleasures of sin may promise me
Whether that be pleasure now or pleasure later. I'm going to cling to the promises of God It takes faith to do that and God will will build our faith.
He will grow our faith in doing that. So that's the second thing third is it takes faith to see the reproach of Christ as Greater wealth than the treasures of this world
It takes faith to see the reproach of Christ as greater
Wealth than the treasures of this world. It says that Moses he considered the reproach of Christ Greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt now it takes it takes faith to do that and You know
Paul said that he considers the sufferings of Christ He the pleasures of it he he he longed for the fellowships of his suffering
That that was a beautiful thing to Paul. That's what he longed for You know suffering for Christ he considered that greater wealth than the treasures of this world
Greater men have gone before us and and and suffered for the cause of Christ.
I mean There's other men besides the Apostles, but I mean the Apostles went through some tragic stuff for the sake of Christ But they
I mean just just think about that They they considered Moses considered the reproach of Christ greater wealth than the treasures of this world
Are you there? Are you there at that moment? Do you consider the reproach of Christ is greater wealth than the treasures of this world?
Where are you at? Where are you? Where are you at with your with your walk with the Lord? do you consider that the insults and and The The mockery and everything that comes with following Christ greater than the wealth and the treasures of this world
Where you at with that, you know Says for he was looking to the reward he was looking to the reward
It takes faith, this is the last thing It takes faith to experience the joy of knowing
Christ as our true reward Did you know that that we are
Christ's inheritance? We are his inheritance. The church is his inheritance
Now you might think man. He got the short end out of the stick But if you were to have if you were to see yourself as a
Saint if you were to see yourself as he sees you Man I Wish I could see myself as he sees me because a lot of the times
I only see myself as a fallen wretched sinner But if you were to see yourself as he sees you
And Lord give me eyes to see He said it takes faith to experience the joy of knowing
Christ is our true reward Let me ask you something
Do you have joy in knowing that he is your reward? That he is your reward
Not gold not silver Not diamonds not rubies but the crucified
Reigning lion of Judah So that's what he's coming back as coming back as a roaring ruling lion of Judah He came as a lamb, but he's coming back as a lion
He is your inheritance He is your king Now think about who where you are now think about where you are now in your sin
And the things you're struggling with the little the little bitty sins that you struggle with day to day
Little little things you you wrestle with Where are you at with that?
Do you desire Christ? To be your reward Because he desires you
He longs for you. You are his you are his church if you are a born -again believer in The lion of Judah in the risen
Christ You are his inheritance and he longs for you he is excited to see you
You might not be very excited to see him Knowing the things that you've been through and knowing the sins that you've committed and all those all your past But he is more excited to see you and you are to see him
Guys he is coming back and he is our inheritance and we are his inheritance
Look forward to that day. Look forward to the day that we receive our reward and he receives the spotless
Unblemished lamb our Bride of Christ sorry bride of Christ.
We are the bride of Christ And he will receive us and we will receive him
Man, that's gonna be a good day Be encouraged guys It takes faith to stand with the people of God during persecution when hope seems lost
It takes faith to live by the promises of God when the fleeting pleasures of sin are all around us
It takes faith to see the reproach of Christ as greater Wealth than the treasures of the world and it takes faith to experience the joy of knowing
Christ as our true reward Christ is the one who develops faith in you
God will develop your faith as you be obedient to the Word of God Faith comes about hearing and hearing by the
Word of God get in the Word of God today Learn God's Word live it breathe it
Obey it you will grow in faith. I love y 'all be obedient to the
