Daily Bites Of God's Word - Part 31 - Psalm 119:31

Hello there and welcome back to Daily Bites of God's Word. This is Andy Cain. It's a joy to be back with you once again.

Today we are looking at Psalm 119 verse 30. Verse 30 says, I have chosen the faithful way,

I have placed your judgments before me. Now this word translated placed here in the

Legacy Standard Bible could be translated accounted or determined that your ordinances are worthy.

So you can see how that would get a little wordy in a translation. So they simplified it down to I've placed your judgments before me, signifying that it is the law of God, is the word of God that is primary, is the highest priority, is the thing that the psalmist here sees as being most important in his life.

I have chosen the faithful way. I have placed the faithful way before me. I want to follow and I want to obey the judgments and the word of God.

And the reason that the word of God is worthy, the reason that the faithful way is the way that God's people choose and want to go down is because of the

God behind it. The word of God is worthy because God is worthy. The word of God is good because God is good.

His judgments are right because God is right and righteous. We choose the faithful way.

We choose God's way. We choose the God -centered way. We go away from the man -centered way.

And so I encourage you, choose the faithful way, choose God's way, choose to be in submission to the word of God in your life and rightfully apply the word of God to all areas of your life.

Place, we're talking figuratively here, of course, stumbled over that word, but you're going to place the statutes and the judgments of the word of God before you every day.

Think of sort of like the old cartoon with the cartoon character. He's riding the donkey and he's holding the carry out in front of the donkey to keep the donkey progressing forward.

It is the word of God that we put out in front of us that we seek after.

We follow after. That's the goal. It's what we're working towards. We place them in front of us because we've accounted them as being worthy because of the
