Daily Bites Of God's Word - Part 32 - Psalm 119:32

00:12
and welcome back to daily bites. God's word. This is Andy Cain is a joy to be back with you. Once again, today we are looking at Psalm 119 verse 31.
00:21
He says, I cling to your testimonies. Oh, Yahweh do not put me to shame.
00:27
If you're going to cling to anything in life, I can't think of too many things better than to cling to than the word of God, many people will cling to their idols.
00:35
They'll cling to their money. They will cling to their religion of sorts or their jobs, whatever it is that they idolize.
00:46
And what you cling to is usually what you're leaning on. What you cling to is usually what you're going to put your trust in.
00:53
If you cling to something, if you're in, you know, you think of the child that is in the midst of a storm or something that is caused fear or fright in that child, they will want to cling to the father's leg or cling on to that father or mother because they know that there's safety there, they know that there's trust there.
01:13
And so for the Psalmist to say, I cling to your testimonies, he's saying, I trust in them.
01:19
They bring me safety. They bring me joy. They lift me up when I need to be lifted up.
01:25
Like he said in verse 28, when he said, raise me up according to your word. So you need to be clinging to the testimonies of who
01:33
God is and how he has revealed himself in scripture. But clinging to the word of God is your source for truth and safety and peace and everything.
01:42
And so he says, I've placed, excuse me, uh, Oh Yahweh, do not put me to shame. Do not let me find shame in my life.
01:51
Let me live in that peace and safety that comes from knowing your word, abiding in your word, living according to your word, and ultimately being in submission to scripture and submission to Christ.
02:05
Amen. Well, I trust that you are clinging to the testimonies and to the word of God in your own life, as this will bring you true spiritual prosperity.
