Good morning Saints and all watchers.

My name is Pastor Ben from Wynton Memorial Baptist Church. I'm the associate pastor there.

I just want to take some time out from your busy day and share the word with you.

I hope you are having a lovely morning. This is a beautiful day today. It's a good day to dive into the word and hear from God this morning.

We wonder sometimes what do we do with ourselves since we have all this time on our hands.

It is a good time now, if any, to spend some time in the word and work on our spiritual growth.

Knowing that, we have some perfect time to get into the scriptures, discover what

God has for us, and start desiring to grow and dig into the scriptures, study

His word, find out what He wants for us, find out what He desires for our life.

I have some relevant scriptures for that. It comes out of 2 Peter chapter 1 verses 3 and 4, probably my favorite two verses out of probably the entire

Bible. I say that about a lot of things, I have a lot of favorite scriptures, but these are probably my top two favorites.

So it is verses 3 and 4 of chapter 1. It says this, this is like dynamite.

It says, His divine power has given us everything, that's everything, required for life and godliness through the knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness.

By these, He has given us

His very great and precious promises, so that through them you may share in His divine nature, escaping the corruption that is in the world because of evil desire.

Because of evil desire. So let's just see exactly what this is saying.

So it says His divine power. Now we all recognize that God has divine power.

God is all powerful. He spoke everything into existence, okay? So we all recognize that.

He has given us everything required for life and godliness.

Good morning, Jenny Hart. He has given us everything required for life and godliness.

A lot of people, they seem to think that all Jesus gave us was eternal life.

That is not the case. Jesus gave us so much more than just eternal life.

Good morning, Lisa. He gave us everything required for life.

Everything required for life. For living life as we should in obedience to Him.

And also for godliness, pursuit of godliness. Working out and pursuing a healthy life, eating right and everything is good, but godliness is beneficial not only in this life, but also in the life to come.

We see that from Timothy. So it says required for life and godliness through the knowledge of Him who called us to His own glory and goodness.

So that He called us to His own glory and goodness. So that is a privilege that we should take to heart.

We have been called to His own glory and goodness. We recognize that. We will share in His glory.

We will stand in His glory one day. Man, that is beautiful.

We will stand in His glory one day. So it also says this.

It says in verse 4, it says, by these He has given us very great and precious promises.

Now what do you think that is? Well, we know that He has promised that He will work everything out for the good of those who love

Him and are called according to His purpose. So we also know that He works in us both the will and to do of His good pleasure.

We also know that He is working in us and He will do what

He has promised to do. He will complete it into the day of Christ Jesus. So He has these certain promises that He has promised to us.

And these promises are not just in the New Testament, they are also in the Old Testament and they apply to us.

So not only do we share in these promises, but also we share in the divine nature.

In the divine nature. Check that out. We share in the divine nature.

Now what is this divine nature? This is the Holy Spirit. We share in the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit indwells all believers.

It indwells all believers. Praise God, we can overcome, that's what it goes on to say, escaping the corruption that is in the world because of evil desire.

We can share in the divine nature, escaping the corruption that is in the world because of evil desire.

Now, I don't know about y 'all, but that's a blessing to me because I don't like this evil desire that lurks in me.

You know? Amen? So I want to get rid of it too. So that's the promise that we have the divine nature and we can escape the corruption of the flesh.

We can escape the divine nature. I mean, sorry, we can escape the corruption that is in the world.

So that's a blessing to me to know that he has equipped us for overcoming and conquering our sinful nature.

So while we have this time on our hands to, you know, more time reading the word and spending time with God, things like that, hey

Bill, we ought to spend that time putting off the old man and putting on the new man.

Spending time in his word, claiming these precious promises. Spending time with God, developing the new nature in us.

You know, so as you go through your day, remember that you have a divine nature within you.

You have promises from God that he will overcome in you.

You have all these promises for perseverance, for overcoming, for success, you know, in your spiritual walk.

So let that encourage you. Let that encourage you to press on, to keep going, to never give up.

There is hope, you know. There's always hope in Jesus. There's no reason to give up.

Although these different ads on the news or on TV or all this other stuff can be disheartening and can be extremely discouraging, you know, look for hope because we stand with a risen

Savior who has already overcome and he has given us a divine nature and promises we can look toward that share great news of an everlasting kingdom and an eternal

God. So let me pray with you. God, I pray that you give us an awesome day today.

Lord, I pray that you help us remember that you are in control and that you have already overcome.

Lord, I pray you give us peace today and help us relax and rest in your promises that you are reigning in us, in our hearts, and in our minds.
