Daily Bites Of God's Word - Part 7 - Psalm 119:7

Today we are looking at Psalm 119, verse 6. Psalm 119, verse 6, it says, then

I, this is me, shall not be ashamed. How is it that I'm not ashamed?

Well, we become, or we can be unashamed when we go back to the previous verse, it says, my ways be established to keep your statues.

So everything that's come before this is what's led to this declaration. Everything from understanding that the blessed man of verse 1 is because he's blameless, he's holy, he's righteous because he walks in the law of the

Lord. He's blessed because he observes the testimonies of God, he's seeking him with all his heart.

He walks in his ways, we've been commanded and keep the precepts diligently. So now we want to see our ways established based on all of that.

And then it's upon that basis that the psalmist here in verse 6 says, I will not be ashamed.

See, you would be ashamed if you were trying to have it your way right away. Bird King now, your own ways, your own precepts, you know, got to have it my way, my way or the highway.

You know, he says, I want to have it according to your way. And because of that,

I will not be ashamed. When I look upon or to all your commandments.

So what is the basis of your thinking? What is the basis of your decision making? Is it to look into yourself, to look to your own point of view, to look to your own wisdom, your own way of doing things?

Or as the psalmist says here, I won't be ashamed when I look to your commandments, to the commandments of God, not my own, not my way, but God's way.

If you want to live a life that is not shameful, that is unashamed, that is blameless, that is blessed, we do so by looking to God, seeking him with all of our heart and walking in his ways.

And then you can say, as the psalmist says, it is then that I shall not be ashamed because I will be looking to your commandments.
