Hi, my name is Lance McMullen, and I am here on behalf of the thousands of unborn children whose lives are at stake because of this resolution.

I also come to you as a man who has been forgiven of all my sins by the blood of Jesus. And I say that because there is hope for anyone who would turn from their sins and trust in Christ.

This would include the sins of calling abortion health care, thinking there's any possibility of making child murder safe, delaying and perverting justice, and seeking to protect assassins of the innocent.

God says woe to them that call evil good and good evil. That's exactly what's been happening today and what happens in this resolution.

You can use all the euphemisms you want. Everyone here still knows that abortion is the intentional killing of an innocent person.

I think murder is a perfectly fine word for that. So I'd ask you to pause and consider the weight of the decision before you today.

Will you advance the cause of child murder? History is certainly watching us.

It's watching you. And in Lord willing, 50, 100, 200 years from now, when people despise legal abortion just as much as we today despise legal slavery, what will your descendants have to say of you?

Even more than that, when you stand before the God who specially made each of you in your mother's womb, what will he have to say of you?

We've heard a lot of truth today, truth about the injustice, truth about the rights that these children ought to have.

So I simply plea with you from what the scripture says. Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your heart.

If it was true for me when I was in my mother's womb, would it be okay to do it now? Try to explain to a child why killing other children is okay.

I would call that a cultural suicide because we're not protecting ourselves, and therefore I'm opposed to the resolution.

My personal rights to have an abortion in the state of Arizona have been recently stripped away, although I understand that the ban has been temporarily put on hold.

If the appeal fails, however, this would mean that if I got pregnant and wished to put an end to my pregnancy via abortion,

I could not do it in my home state. Having full control over my body was a right that has been taken away from me.

But should I have had this right to begin with? If you had a mother come before you asking to honor her personal rights to murder her 2 -year -old son, would you support her?

Of course not. We are appalled whenever we hear stories of mothers who drown their children in bathtubs or leaving them to die in a dumpster or strangling them to death.

But this legislation deems when a child is inside the womb, it is fine to chemically burn them, surgically tear off their limbs, or vacuum them into thousands of pieces.

The matter being discussed today is asking you to give women the right to murder their children and instruct the police not to enforce the law.

Previously, you justified your belief of a woman's rights in abortion with Roe v. Wade. But Roe is now overturned.

You are no longer fighting for the law, but against it. When you cast your vote this afternoon, your name will go down in history as someone who supported the slaughter of innocent children in the womb.

I appreciate your deep concerns for my rights as a woman today.

But my honest question to you now is would you have that same conviction for my rights if I was 14 years younger in my mother's womb?

I am simply asking you to be consistent and not discriminate against women due to their age, because the most basic right a woman can have is the right to life.

Each of our lives are but a vapor in comparison to eternity. All will stand before God and give an account for our actions.

Planned Parenthood and the pro -choice community has done is basically redefine what a human being is and said that it is not a human being until it reaches a certain point or until it's out of the womb.

So once again, black babies are being told they're no longer human unless they reach a certain point.

Number two, I hear a lot about how this is going to affect minorities and how we should help pregnant women.

We should help pregnant women. My mom was a single mom. She had me and my brother when she was my age. I had to watch my mom walk like a dog just to afford daycare, afford groceries, afford to put food on the table, clothes on me and my brother's backs.

Why, maybe instead of this bill, we should be considering getting more help for single moms.

And number two, what you're basically saying is, by not upholding this law, is saying that we're going to deprioritize murder and not enforce the law.

So please, I ask you to enforce this law and uphold the value and the dignity of all babies, especially black babies.

I've considered myself a Christian for many years. I thought that abortion was wrong, but for a long time felt that I should just keep quiet, let others make their own decision, stay out of their business.

Until my eyes were opened to the word of God, he tells us to defend the defenseless. Psalm 82 says, defend the weak and the fatherless.

Uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed. Proverbs 31 says, open your mouth for the speechless.

And the cause of all who are appointed to die, open your mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.

I think of Nazi Germany. Who dared to speak out against the atrocities that they were witnessing back then?

Many were probably too scared or indifferent. Their consciences being jaded.

May it not be said of us that we were too intimidated or that our hearts were calloused and that we remained indifferent to speaking out against what is clearly wrong, murder of an innocent child.

You were each granted life, and now you have been each granted this office to make a difference for our community, to better our society.

Please, think of the most vulnerable amongst us and use your position to defend them.
