Mormon Church they honestly believe that if they don't have the Melchizedek and Aaronic priesthoods they do not have authority from God or to speak on behalf of God so the priesthoods are taught in section 107 the gathering of Zion is taught in section 84 that God has a body of flesh and bones is taught in section 130 verse 22 polygamy this is an old doctrine that has been taught not well it was early

Mormon bastions of religion and they are not bastions of religion at all and so we can for that matter we can see what's some of the things in the news of what's going on in the state of Massachusetts considered to be the most liberal state in the

United States and one needs to ask the question whether or not this even closely came to pass but this is a prophecy of Joseph Smith that he gave that would happen and again the hour of their judgment is nigh their house shall be left to them desolate so there was an imminent danger to the people of those cities if they didn't repent and turn to the

Mormon gospel so that would be one of the first now I want to let you know there are many many false prophecies of Joseph Smith and I am not going to even try to do every one of them on the radio but you you would want to consider the fact that there are some primary false doctrines that we need to focus on there are some primary things that we need to consider that Joseph Smith gave false prophecy on and again as we start the show out if one false if one prophecy is false he's a false prophet and we're not to listen to him we're not to follow him from the

Doctrine and Covenants section 87 now I'll tell you something if you want to talk about the false prophecies of Joseph Smith this is one area where Mormons missionaries love to camp out they love to come into people's homes and let them know did you know that Joseph Smith prophesied the

Civil War he prophesied the Civil War and that's impressive how did that come about and this is a fascinating account of how things went along here so let me just go into it section 87 and it's key to understand these dates one of the things about these prophecies is they were very contemporary in the day and era of Joseph Smith and so we need to keep in mind the dates in the context of what was going on during that time and so this is section 87 of the

Doctrine and Covenants it was given on December 25th 1832 it's known as the

Civil War prophecy however it was not published until 19 years later only about 10 before the war quote verily thus saith the

Civil War I know that's not a very American thing to believe we in this country tend to believe that everybody is focused on the

South Carolina is getting very upset over the issue of tariffs that's what South Carolina was getting upset about had nothing to do with slavery and nothing to do with slavery had to do with tariffs they were ready to secede from the

John C Bennett has been doing well in August of 1840 Bennett went to a lady in the city and began to teach her that promiscuous intercourse between the sexes was lawful and no harm in it and requested that it was very wrong to do so requested the privilege of gratifying his passions but she refused in the strongest terms saying that it was very wrong to do so and it would bring a disgrace on the church finding this argument ineffectual he told her that men in higher standing in the church then himself not only sanctioned but the sanction but practiced the same deeds in order to finish the controversy said and affirmed that I this is

Joseph Smith speaking to the governor both taught and acted in the same manner but publicly proclaimed against it in consequence of the prejudice of the people and for fear of trouble in my own house fascinating information so we have this situation to where this prophecy is given in January of 1841 a letter is written to the governor of the state in June of 1842 and the circumstances in truth that John C Bennett is a scoundrel according to Joseph Smith's own words so that in and of itself makes this a false prophecy because God would never ever have endorsed this kind of behavior in John C Bennett's actions and even the

Apostle Bruce Armacanti I believe he's the one that did the prefaces wrote about this particular revelation and I quote although the revelation was recorded in 1843 it is evident from the historical records that the doctrines and principles involved in this revelation had been known by the

Prophet since 1831 so what we have here upon direct examination is a situation to where John C Bennett is a good buddy of Joseph Smith and Joseph Smith is involved in polygamy long before by the words of Bruce McConkie long before he gave the revelation and he is shall we say visiting around the city and John C Bennett sees no problem with it and so he starts doing the same thing well it's is a coincidence that this thing hits public in June of 1842 and in 1843 the revelation on polygamy is given it sounds to me like Joseph Smith was exposed he had a situation where John C Bennett had been caught everybody found out about it
